Redmi may soon be preparing to expand availability of the Note 17 Pro 5G beyond China, as a device believed to be the smartphone’s global variant has surfaced in an import-export shipment database. The listing includes an identifier associated with the phone, along with memory configuration details and shipment records. A related Poco-branded device has also appeared in the same database, hinting at another possible rebranded model down the line. Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed a global launch for the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G at this stage.
An NBD Database Listing Points to a Global Variant
According to a report from The Tech Outlook, a Xiaomi smartphone carrying the identifier 2607DRA18G has been spotted on the NBD import and export database. While the listing doesn’t include the device’s actual commercial name, the publication notes that this identifier closely resembles the one used for the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, listed as 2607DRA18C. Based on that similarity, it’s believed this newly spotted device represents the version of the phone intended for markets outside China.
The database reportedly includes four separate shipment records dated May 16 and May 25, with shipments reportedly sent to Pakistan and Vietnam. The listings also reveal two memory configurations: a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage option, and a 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option, both notably lower than the memory configurations typically seen on the phone’s Chinese variant, suggesting Xiaomi may be tailoring this global version toward more budget-conscious markets.
A Smaller Battery for the Global Variant?
Separately, tipster Kacper Skrzypek has suggested that the global version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro could come equipped with an 8,340mAh battery, a noticeable step down from the 9,000mAh battery found in the Chinese model. For comparison, the Indian variant of the phone is currently expected to retain the same 9,000mAh battery capacity as the Chinese version, suggesting the global variant spotted in this database listing may specifically be intended for other regional markets rather than India.

A Related Poco Model May Also Be in the Works
The same report also points to another Xiaomi device, identified as 2607DPC18G, which has appeared in the NBD database as well. This particular model has previously surfaced on both the EEC certification platform and Indonesia’s TKDN certification database, suggesting it’s further along in its own certification process.
While the device’s final marketing name remains unconfirmed, the publication suggests it could eventually launch under the Poco brand, based on similarities in its identifier pattern. That said, the report also cautions that Xiaomi’s rebranding decisions haven’t always been straightforward to predict. As an example, a Poco device related to the standard Redmi Note 17 5G was initially expected to launch as the Poco M8 Plus, but internal HyperOS code later identified it instead as the Poco M8 Power, showing how these naming decisions can shift during development.
About the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s China Launch
Redmi introduced the Note 17 Pro, backed by its 9,000mAh battery, in China earlier this month alongside the standard Redmi Note 17. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 software, based on Android 16. On the display side, it features a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, and supports 67W wired fast charging.
What This Could Mean for Global Availability
With shipment records already showing movement to markets like Pakistan and Vietnam, it’s plausible that Redmi is preparing a broader international rollout for the Note 17 Pro 5G sometime in the coming months, even without an official announcement yet. Combined with the related Poco-branded listing, this suggests Xiaomi’s various sub-brands may continue their pattern of releasing closely related, rebranded devices across different regions, a strategy the company has used repeatedly in recent years. As always, these details remain unofficial until confirmed directly by Xiaomi or Redmi.
