Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Gets Network Approval in China, Battery Capacity Stays the Same

Xiaomi doesn’t appear to be wasting any time between wearable launches. It’s been only a short while since the company introduced the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro, yet development on its successor already appears well underway. The Xiaomi Smart Band 11 was previously spotted on Taiwan’s NCC certification database, and now two new Xiaomi devices believed to be part of this upcoming lineup have cleared network access approval in China, according to industry tipsters.

What Just Got Approved

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved two Xiaomi Bluetooth devices, carrying model numbers M2616B1 and M2617B1. According to tipster Experience More, these two models correspond to the standard Xiaomi Smart Band 11 and an NFC-equipped variant, positioning them as direct successors to the current Xiaomi Smart Band 10 and Band 10 NFC.

A separate UL certification listing tied to the band has also surfaced, confirming a battery capacity of 233mAh, identical to the capacity used in the current generation. This suggests Xiaomi isn’t planning a battery size increase for this next model, at least based on what’s been certified so far.

A Familiar Certification Pattern

This isn’t the first time Xiaomi’s certification trail has hinted at an upcoming wearable ahead of launch. The company followed a similar pattern with its previous flagship band, the Smart Band 10 Pro, which appeared under model numbers M2551B1 and M2553B1 for its standard and NFC versions respectively before its official announcement.

There was also an earlier, separate sighting back in May, when a wearable carrying model number M2561B1 showed up in certification databases in both Singapore and Taiwan, listed only under the generic label “smart bracelet” at the time. Taken together, these certification appearances tend to be a reliable early signal that a new Xiaomi wearable is approaching launch, even before official specifications are confirmed.

What the Current Smart Band 10 Series Offers

Since detailed specifications for the Smart Band 11 haven’t been confirmed yet, it’s useful to look at what the current-generation Smart Band 10 series brings to the table for comparison.

The standard Smart Band 10 features a 1.72-inch AMOLED display with peak brightness of 1,500 nits, a 233mAh battery rated for up to 21 days of use, support for more than 150 sport tracking modes, and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0 software running the experience.

The Pro variant builds on that further, stepping up to a larger 1.74-inch display with 2,000 nits of peak brightness, along with additional health-tracking features like HRV (heart rate variability) monitoring, built-in GNSS for standalone location tracking, and compatibility with Apple Health, a notable inclusion that broadens the band’s appeal beyond just Xiaomi’s own ecosystem.

What This Could Mean for the Smart Band 11

If the Smart Band 11 does retain the same 233mAh battery as its predecessor, it would suggest Xiaomi is likely to focus its improvements elsewhere, such as software refinements, added sensors, or new health and fitness tracking features, rather than pursuing a larger battery for extended runtime. This kind of approach isn’t unusual for fitness bands, where manufacturers often prioritize maintaining a compact, comfortable form factor over chasing bigger battery capacities.

With certification now cleared in China and a second-half launch window reportedly still on track, more concrete details about the Smart Band 11’s design, display, and feature set should start emerging as Xiaomi moves closer to an official announcement.
