Motorola has officially confirmed the India launch date for its upcoming Edge 70 Max smartphone. Alongside the announcement, the company has revealed the device’s design and confirmed several key hardware details through a dedicated Flipkart microsite. The latest teasers give buyers a solid early look at what the phone will offer, covering performance, display, battery, and charging capabilities ahead of its official debut.
Pricing and full camera specifications haven’t been revealed just yet and are expected to be announced at the actual launch event. The Edge 70 Max will join Motorola’s existing Edge 70 lineup in India, positioning itself as the more powerful, feature-packed option within the series.
Launch Date and Design
According to the Flipkart microsite, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is set to launch in India on July 15 at 12pm IST, and will be available for purchase through Flipkart immediately following its debut.
Images shared on the microsite show a phone with a flat display, slim bezels, and a square-shaped rear camera module, a design language that’s become increasingly common among recent flagship and near-flagship devices. The handset is confirmed to be available in Light Blue and Green colour options.
Performance: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Advanced Cooling
On the performance front, the listing confirms that the Motorola Edge 70 Max will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Motorola claims the processor delivers a 46 percent improvement in AI-related NPU (neural processing unit) performance compared to its predecessor, alongside an AnTuTu benchmark score of more than 3 million, a figure that would place it firmly among the more powerful Android chipsets currently available.
The phone is expected to support up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and will include on-device AI processing capabilities, allowing certain AI-powered features to run locally on the phone rather than relying on cloud processing.
To keep that performance in check under sustained use, Motorola has also detailed a cooling system for the device, called ArcticMesh, which includes a 5,500 sq mm vapour cooling chamber. According to the company, this thermal solution is designed to spread heat more evenly across the phone’s internals, helping keep the processor running cooler during demanding tasks like gaming or extended video recording.

Display: Quad-HD+ Panel With High Brightness
The Motorola Edge 70 Max is confirmed to feature a Quad-HD+ LTPO display with a 144Hz refresh rate, ideal for smooth scrolling and responsive gaming, along with an unusually high peak brightness rating of up to 7,000 nits. That figure, if accurate, would place it well above most smartphones currently on the market when it comes to outdoor visibility.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and is said to offer a 95.12 percent screen-to-body ratio, meaning very slim bezels relative to the overall front panel size. It also supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut along with 10-bit colour output, both of which point toward accurate, vibrant colour reproduction. Motorola’s listing also mentions support for 120fps gameplay in BGMI, a detail likely to appeal to mobile gamers specifically.
Separately, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt has stated in a post on Bluesky that the Motorola Edge 70 Max may feature a 6.82-inch display, adding a specific screen size estimate to the otherwise confirmed display specifications.

Battery and Charging
Battery life also appears to be a strong focus area for this device. The Motorola Edge 70 Max is confirmed to house a substantial 7,100mAh battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 58 hours of battery life under typical use.
Charging is handled via 90W TurboPower wired fast charging. Notably, the listing also confirms support for magnetic wireless charging, a feature Motorola describes as a first for its segment, suggesting this could be one of the more distinctive features separating the Edge 70 Max from other devices in its price bracket.
What to Expect at Launch
With the launch date, design, and several core specifications already confirmed, the July 15 event should fill in the remaining gaps, most notably pricing and full camera details. Given the emphasis on a high-brightness display, a large battery, magnetic wireless charging, and flagship-level performance hardware, the Motorola Edge 70 Max looks positioned to be one of the more feature-rich devices in Motorola’s India lineup this year.
