CMF by Nothing has officially announced the Clip Pro, a new open-ear clip-on audio device, according to tipster Shishir on X. The device is priced starting at £79, roughly $99, and brings a distinctive design approach along with a genuinely comprehensive feature set for its price point.
An Open-Ear, Clip-On Design
Unlike traditional in-ear or over-ear headphones, the CMF Clip Pro uses an open-ear, clip-on design, allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings while listening to audio, a design approach that’s grown in popularity for people who want music or calls without fully blocking outside sound, whether for safety reasons during outdoor activities or simply personal preference.
Audio Quality and Certification
Powering the audio experience is a 10.8mm dynamic driver, a relatively large driver size for this kind of open-ear form factor, suggesting CMF is aiming for genuinely strong sound output despite the device’s more compact design. The Clip Pro is also LDAC Hi-Res wireless certified, a high-bitrate Bluetooth audio codec that allows for significantly better audio quality over a wireless connection compared to standard Bluetooth codecs, provided the connected device also supports LDAC.
The device also includes Static Spatial Audio, a feature designed to create a more immersive, multi-directional sound experience during playback.
Battery Life and Fast Charging
On battery life, the CMF Clip Pro is rated for up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, extending to 32.5 hours total when including the charging case. The device also supports fast charging, with just 10 minutes of charging reportedly providing up to 4 hours of additional playback, a genuinely useful feature for users who need a quick top-up before heading out.
Call Quality and Connectivity
For calls, the Clip Pro includes a 4-microphone array, aimed at improving voice pickup and background noise reduction during phone calls. On connectivity, the device uses Bluetooth 5.4, along with Dual Connection support, allowing it to stay paired with two devices simultaneously and switch between them seamlessly.
The Clip Pro also supports both Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, making the initial pairing process quicker and more seamless depending on which ecosystem the user is connecting from. A dedicated Low Latency mode is also included, useful for reducing audio delay during gaming or watching video content, where synchronization between audio and visuals matters more.
Durability
On durability, the CMF Clip Pro carries an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and light splashing water, a reasonable level of protection for an open-ear device likely to be used during outdoor activities or workouts.
Availability
Pre-orders for the CMF Clip Pro have already begun, with general sales set to start on August 15 across select global markets.
