Nubia has begun teasing the design of its upcoming flagship, the device the company is calling the world’s first AI agent smartphone. As we reported earlier, Nubia has already confirmed the phone will run on its own large-scale AI agent model alongside ByteDance’s Doubao assistant, with an official debut set for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) in Shanghai, running July 17 to 20.
Now, fresh teasers give the first proper look at what the phone will actually look like.
Design Revealed Through Weibo Teasers
In a series of posts on Weibo, Nubia has revealed the phone’s complete design ahead of its formal unveiling. The device will come in four color finishes: black, light pink, silver, and blue, giving buyers a fairly broad range of style options for a flagship device.
Design-wise, the phone features the Nubia logo positioned centrally on the rear panel, paired with a pill-shaped horizontal camera module housing three lenses. The overall look leans toward a clean, modern aesthetic in line with current flagship design trends.
What Makes an “Agentic” AI Different
Nubia’s core pitch with this device isn’t just another AI chatbot bolted onto the phone. The company is describing this as a genuinely “agentic” experience, meaning the AI is designed to understand natural language requests and then independently carry out multi-step tasks across different apps, rather than simply answering questions or generating text and leaving the user to do the rest manually.
That distinction matters. Most current phone AI assistants are conversational: you ask something, they respond. An agentic system, by contrast, aims for system-level intelligence capable of taking real actions on the device itself, navigating apps, completing multi-step workflows, and handling tasks with less manual input required. If Nubia’s claims hold up in practice, it would represent a meaningful step beyond the AI features currently common across flagship smartphones.
A Flagship Built for Mass Production
While full technical specifications haven’t been revealed yet, Nubia has been clear that this device is being positioned as a proper flagship headed for mass production, not a limited concept phone meant purely for demonstration. That’s worth noting, since it suggests Nubia intends this AI agent phone to actually reach consumers rather than remain a one-off showcase.
What to Expect at WAIC 2026
With WAIC 2026 just days away, anticipation continues to build around how capable Nubia’s AI agent system will actually be in daily use. If the company has genuinely managed to integrate a system-level AI agent into a mass-production flagship, it could mark one of the more significant AI-related smartphone developments this year.
