iPhone 18 Pro Max Leaks: New Colors, Dimensions, and Battery Upgrades

Leaks regarding Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup have surfaced rapidly in recent weeks, particularly concerning their premium iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models.

Recent supply chain leaks have shed additional details regarding Apple’s 2026 flagship phone design, such as frame color options, device thickness and an anticipated upgrade in battery technology.

Dark Cherry Could Be Apple’s Signature iPhone Color for 2026

Apple has recently confirmed reports that they are testing three aluminum frame finishes on both iPhone 18 Pro Max and Pro: Dark Cherry, Cloud Blue and Black.

Dark Cherry stands out among them all as being especially noteworthy, drawing constant mention from industry sources as potential anchor in Apple’s premium range.

Dark Cherry could become Apple’s official marketing color – much like Blue Titanium, Desert Titanium and Cosmic Orange in previous generations – should its commercial launch become reality.

Recent images offer a more accurate glimpse of Apple’s next device’s finish: dark red metallic frame combined with premium materials creates an eye-catching contrast from more familiar color palettes used by the tech titan in past devices.

Cloud Blue has attracted considerable excitement among technology enthusiasts. The shade has been described as more vibrant and eye-catching than previous iPhone blue finishes seen before; combined with its metallic frame it could produce even greater visual impact in different lighting conditions.

Black is expected to appeal most strongly to users looking for something less daring in aesthetic. As an ideal and conservative choice in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, it could serve as the safest and most traditional solution.

Could the iPhone 18 Pro Max Become the Heaviest iPhone Ever?

One of the more shocking revelations from recent leaks has to do with physical dimensions of the device in question.

Ice Universe, an expert Weibo leaker with extensive smartphone release knowledge and track record, reports that Apple will retain an 8.75mm thickness for their 2018 Pro Max smartphone.

Ice Universe had speculated the next-gen Pro Max might be slightly thicker. Apple has previously confirmed its plans to increase device thickness due to larger internal components like batteries. This news goes against earlier predictions from analysts that suggested Apple might increase device thickness to accommodate larger internal components like new battery systems.

Apple appears to be trying to strike a balance between battery life and overall ergonomics with maintaining their current thickness, prioritizing slim yet refined designs despite any limited physical space constraints that they entail.

Reports indicate that users will likely notice no discernible change between this phone and its predecessor; the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Regardless, that doesn’t guarantee weight retention.

Numerous industry sources believe the iPhone 18 Pro Max may become the heaviest iPhone yet released, even while maintaining the same thickness.

According to reports, this increase can be linked to upgrades made to its internal hardware components – most significantly an upgraded battery capacity – with its projected weight projected at over 240 grams compared to that of current generations of devices.

As manufacturers add larger batteries, upgraded camera systems and cooling technologies to flagship smartphones, their weight has steadily risen over time.

Analysts agree, though, that consumers would accept additional weight in exchange for longer battery life and better overall performance.

Could the iPhone 18 Pro Max Feature the Largest Battery Ever in an iPhone?

Apart from design changes, battery capacity rumor remains of primary interest to consumers.

Digital Chat Station, an influential source for leaks, claims the iPhone 18 Pro Max may come equipped with a battery of 5,100mAh to 5,200mAh capacity.

If accurate, this battery would become the largest ever installed into an iPhone; surpassing even that found in the 5,088mAh unit found inside of the eSIM version of iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Though numerical increases might seem modest, advancements in processor efficiency, display technology and iOS power management could yield tangible increases to real world endurance.

AI-enabled features become ever more resource-intensive and place greater strain on smartphone hardware and battery performance, necessitating changes such as this to keep pace.

Apple may have made its goal clear: they intend for their latest iPhone 18 Pro Max device to set a record battery life among premium smartphones. Reports indicate Apple may aim for that goal with this model – and current reports seem accurate enough that such claims could garner public attention as it could set new standards of longevity among premium handsets.
