Xiaomi has once again raised the price of its Pad 8 tablet in India, marking the second price increase for the device within just a few months. The updated pricing is now reflected on Xiaomi’s official India online store.

Xiaomi Pad 8 New Pricing

According to the updated listing on Xiaomi’s India website, the Pad 8 now starts at Rs. 38,999 for the base variant, featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The top-tier configuration, offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is now priced at Rs. 43,999.

A Bigger Jump Than the Previous Hike

This isn’t the first time Xiaomi has adjusted pricing on the Pad 8 this year. Back in June, prices for the same two variants were increased to Rs. 35,999 and Rs. 38,999, respectively, a hike of roughly Rs. 2,000 at the time.

This latest round of price increases is notably steeper. The base variant has now gone up by Rs. 3,000, while the top-tier configuration has increased by Rs. 5,000 compared to the June pricing, a considerably larger jump than the previous adjustment.

Why Prices Keep Climbing

While Xiaomi hasn’t provided an official explanation for this specific price increase, it fits a broader pattern that’s been affecting the tech industry throughout the year. Rising memory and storage chip costs, driven largely by surging global demand tied to AI infrastructure, have been pushing component prices upward across smartphones, tablets, and laptops alike. Several manufacturers, including Apple, have already acknowledged similar pricing pressure tied to these same industry-wide memory cost increases.

Given that tablets like the Pad 8 rely heavily on RAM and storage as core specifications, they’re particularly exposed to this kind of cost pressure, which likely explains why Xiaomi has now raised prices on this device twice within a relatively short span.

What This Means for Buyers

For anyone considering the Xiaomi Pad 8, this second price increase within just a few months suggests the device is becoming noticeably more expensive over time rather than seeing the typical price stability, or gradual price drops, expected as a product ages past its initial launch. Buyers who’ve been waiting to purchase may want to factor in the possibility of further price adjustments if the broader component cost pressures affecting the industry continue.

As with any pricing change, it’s worth checking Xiaomi’s official store directly for the most current pricing before making a purchase decision, since promotional offers or regional pricing adjustments could still apply on top of these updated base prices.
