Samsung’s next round of budget smartphones is starting to surface online. Fresh traces of both the Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s have appeared within Google’s systems, suggesting the company is preparing another wave of affordable devices for its entry-level lineup.
Both Models Spotted on Google Play Console
According to a report from 91Mobiles, both the Galaxy A08 and Galaxy A07s recently appeared within the Google Play Console. The Galaxy A08, carrying model number SM-A085F, is expected to run on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset paired with dual Mali-G57 GPUs and 8GB of RAM. The listing points to a basic HD waterdrop-notch display with a 720 x 1600 resolution, and the device is expected to ship with Android 17.
The Galaxy A07s, carrying model number SM-A077M, uses the same processor and GPU configuration as the A08, but steps down to 4GB of RAM and comes with Android 16 out of the box rather than the newer software version. Both devices continue relying on the same Helio G99 chipset that already powers earlier models like the Galaxy A07 4G, a processor generally well-suited for everyday tasks and light multitasking without significant performance concerns at this price point.
Additional Clues From Certification Databases
Beyond the Play Console sighting, a few more details have emerged from other regulatory sources. The Galaxy A08 has also appeared in both the Wi-Fi Alliance and India’s BIS certification databases, listed under variants including SM-A085F/DS. This kind of certification activity typically points toward a launch window around August 2026, roughly a year after the previous Galaxy A07 4G’s release, following Samsung’s fairly consistent yearly refresh pattern for this budget lineup.
FCC filings have also provided some insight into battery capacity, suggesting a larger cell than the A07’s 5,000mAh unit. The rated capacity appears to sit around 5,830mAh, meaning the device will likely be marketed as a “6,000mAh” phone once officially announced, rounding up in line with how manufacturers commonly present battery specifications. Charging is expected to stick with Samsung’s standard 25W wired charging.
Design Expectations
On design, the Galaxy A08 is expected to retain Samsung’s familiar waterdrop notch on the front, paired with a dual-camera setup on the back, keeping consistent with the design language Samsung has used across recent entries in its budget A-series lineup.
Based on what’s currently known, the Galaxy A08 looks set to be the slightly better-equipped model between the two, offering more RAM and a newer version of Android, while the Galaxy A07s appears positioned as the more affordable, entry-level option within this specific product pairing.
