Vivo isn’t launching a new phone this week — but it is giving an existing one a fresh look. The company has introduced a new Fusion Red colour option for the Vivo T5x 5G in India, adding a third shade to a phone that first went on sale back in March.
What’s New: Just the Colour, Not the Specs
To be clear, this is purely a cosmetic update. The Vivo T5x 5G originally launched in India in Cyber Green and Star Silver, and the new Fusion Red variant simply joins those two as a third option. Every other aspect of the phone — chipset, display, battery, and cameras — remains unchanged.
Price and Availability
Pricing for the Vivo T5x 5G in India starts at Rs. 18,999 for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Buyers who want more memory and space can step up to an 8GB + 128GB configuration for Rs. 20,999, or go all the way to 8GB + 256GB for Rs. 22,999.
The new Fusion Red colourway goes on sale in India starting July 30 at 12pm IST. It will be available through Flipkart, Vivo’s official India e-store, and partner retail stores nationwide.
Display
The dual-SIM Vivo T5x 5G features a 6.76-inch full-HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,344 pixels. The panel supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and can hit peak brightness levels of up to 1,200 nits, making it well-suited for outdoor visibility. On the eye-comfort side, the display includes an Eye Comfort mode and carries TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light emission.
Performance and Software
Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage depending on the variant chosen. On the software front, the phone runs OriginOS 6, built on top of Android 16.
Cameras
On the back, the T5x 5G features a dual-camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary sensor, joined by a 2-megapixel bokeh sensor for portrait shots. Up front, there’s a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery
Battery life is a highlight here, with a large 7,200mAh cell built into the phone — well above what’s typical in this segment, and a strong selling point for users who want a phone that comfortably lasts through a full day and then some.
Build and Connectivity
The Vivo T5x 5G comes with an IP68 and IP69 rating, giving it solid protection against both dust and water, including exposure to high-pressure water jets. On the connectivity side, it supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, and a full suite of satellite navigation systems including GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.
