Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Review – Still Worth Buying in 2026? 🔥

It’s no surprise that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has big shoes to fill. The predecessor, Galaxy Z Fold 3, was among Samsung’s most foldable phones to date. It was a significant improvement that included features such as water resistance and support for the S Pen. Samsung fans had high hopes for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and it has met those promises. It is Samsung’s strongest and most durable flagship foldable phone so far.

Design

The overall design is similar to its predecessor with minor modifications this year. The hinge and the cover display bezels are smaller. Samsung also made the phone lighter, weighing 263g. This is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold handset so far.
Samsung uses robust Armor Aluminum for the frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the display cover and rear panel to increase durability. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 retains the IPX8 water resistance rating from its predecessor.

Displays

This 6.2-inch 2316 x 904-pixel Dynamic AMOLED display has a larger 23.1:9 aspect ratio and slim bezels that allow single-handed operation. The display does not support an S Pen but has a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung has also reduced the bezels of the internal folding display. The 7.6-inch 2176 x 1812 pixel Dynamic AMOLED2X Infinity Flex display has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and supports the S Pen. The under-display camera is improved and less noticeable than before.

Specifications

Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with 12GB of memory. The processor offers significant improvements in NPU, CPU, and GPU speed. It supports up to 1TB of internal storage but has no microSD slot for external expansion.
Stereo speakers enhance the audio experience. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button. It has the same 4,400mAh battery as its predecessor and supports 25W fast charging. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 does not include a charger in the package.

Cameras

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with Dual Pixel AF and OIS. It also has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical and 30x digital zoom.
The display that covers the front of the display has the selfie camera of 10 megapixels, whereas the UDC features a sensor of 4 megapixels. Samsung’s Nightography camera software upgrades together with the upgraded sensors provide a better photography in low light.

Software

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the first smartphone equipped with Android 12L from the beginning. Android 12L is a new version that runs on the Android mobile OS Google created specifically for large-screen devices such as foldables. It also includes additional features that help in multitasking and productivity.
Samsung offers its Galaxy Z Fold 4 for four years of updates to its software. As it was launched with Android 12L The device will be able to update up to 2025. It is expected that the Android 13 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 should be available by the end of 2022.

Price and Availability

Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 4 at the Unpacked event on August 10, with a release date scheduled for August 26. Pre-orders began immediately after the event. Prices start at $1,799. It is available in three colors: Phantom Black, Graygreen, and Beige. Burgundy is available only through Samsung.com.
