Xiaomi Redmi Pro (2016) — The First Redmi Phone with a Dual Camera System

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is a mid-range smartphone introduced on July 27, 2016, making history as the first smartphone in the Redmi lineup to feature a dual camera setup. With its premium brushed aluminum body, AMOLED display, and capable performance, it represented a significant step forward for the Redmi series at a very competitive price.

The Redmi Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 401 ppi, delivering vibrant colors and deep blacks that set it apart from most budget phones of its era. The front panel is made of glass while the body is crafted from brushed aluminum, giving it a genuinely premium look and feel.

The Redmi Pro was available in three editions — Standard, High, and Exclusive — differing in processors and memory configurations. The standard version featured a MediaTek Helio X20 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the Exclusive Edition stepped up to the Helio X25, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

The dual rear camera system paired a 13MP main lens with f/2.0 aperture and phase-detection autofocus alongside a 5MP depth sensor, while the 5MP front camera handled selfies and video calls. A 4050mAh battery kept the device running all day, and it launched with MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, later updated to MIUI 10.
