Samsung Galaxy A91 — The Mid-Range Phone That Never Made It to Market

The Samsung Galaxy A91 was once anticipated as an exciting addition to Samsung’s A-series smartphone family, boasting flagship-level features at an more reasonable price point. According to leaked specifications, its expected features included the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage; as well as its stunning 6.7″ Super AMOLED display boasting 1080×2400 pixels resolution.

Camera-wise, speculation suggested a 48MP main rear camera paired with 32MP selfie cameras on either end, as well as some leaks suggesting triple front-facing selfie cameras — an unusual and ambitious feature for mid-range devices. A 4500mAh battery would power through one day’s use along with Android 10 as its operating system of choice.

However, despite all the buzz generated by its leaked specs and leaked pictures of it being announced to consumers, Samsung decided not to go forward with production of this model and eventually cancelled and never released to the market. Still an intriguing “what-if”, many features later surfaced elsewhere within Samsung’s A series offerings.
