Vivo X Fold Plus Red Color and Key Upgrades

Vivo is preparing to launch the Vivo X Fold Plus, an upgraded version of its first foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold. The design is still close to the original model, but Vivo has added some useful improvements in performance, charging speed, battery capacity, durability, and color options.

One of the biggest changes is the new red color option. This gives the phone a more premium and stylish look, especially for users who want a foldable phone that stands out from the usual black or blue designs.

    New Red Color Design

The red version of the Vivo X Fold Plus gives the device a bold and luxury-style appearance. Foldable phones already look premium, but this red finish makes the phone feel more unique.

For users who like stylish smartphones, this color may be one of the main reasons to choose the Vivo X Fold Plus over the original model.

    Performance Upgrade

The Vivo X Fold Plus comes with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 used in the original Vivo X Fold.

    This should help with:

    • smoother multitasking
    • better gaming performance
    • improved power efficiency
    • faster app switching
    • better performance for heavy users

Since foldable phones are often used for multitasking, a stronger processor is a good improvement.

    Battery and Charging

Vivo increased the battery capacity to 4,730mAh, which is slightly larger than the original Vivo X Fold.

    The phone also supports:

    • 80W wired charging
    • 50W wireless charging

The battery increase is not huge, but when combined with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, users may notice better daily battery performance.

The faster 80W charging is also a strong upgrade because premium foldable phones need fast and reliable charging.

    Stronger Foldable Hinge

Durability is one of the biggest concerns with foldable phones. Vivo says the X Fold Plus uses an aerospace-grade floating-wing hinge system and has passed up to 300,000 folding tests.

This is important because foldable phones are opened and closed many times every day. A stronger hinge can help users feel more confident about long-term use.

    Display and Hover Mode

The Vivo X Fold Plus display supports different hover angles, including around 30 degrees, 90 degrees, and 120 degrees.

    This can be useful for:

    • watching videos
    • taking photos
    • video calls
    • multitasking
    • using the phone like a mini laptop

The display also received multiple DisplayMate A+ certifications, which shows that Vivo is focusing on premium screen quality.

    Camera and ZEISS Imaging

The Vivo X Fold Plus continues Vivo’s partnership with ZEISS. The phone includes a ZEISS imaging system and T* lens coating, which can help reduce reflections and improve image clarity.

For users who care about mobile photography, this gives the phone a more premium camera experience.

    My Opinion

In my opinion, the Vivo X Fold Plus is not a completely new foldable phone. It feels more like a refined version of the original Vivo X Fold.

The biggest upgrades are the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 80W fast charging, slightly larger battery, and the new red color design. These changes make the phone more attractive, especially for users buying a foldable phone for the first time.

However, if you already own the original Vivo X Fold, this upgrade may not be necessary unless you really want better performance and faster charging.

    Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • Premium red color option
    • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor
    • Faster 80W wired charging
    • 50W wireless charging
    • Slightly larger 4,730mAh battery
    • Strong hinge durability
    • ZEISS camera system

    Cons

    • Not a major redesign
    • Battery increase is small
    • May be expensive
    • Availability may depend on region
    • Existing Vivo X Fold users may not need to upgrade
