Could Tecno’s 0mm Bezel Concept Be a Preview of the iPhone 20 Pro’s Design?

Tecno has teased a striking concept phone featuring a true 0mm bezel design, achieving what appears to be a genuinely edge-to-edge display with no visible borders around the screen at all. While this is a Tecno concept device rather than anything related to Apple, the reveal has sparked comparisons to Apple’s long-rumored plans for a fully bezel-free iPhone, potentially arriving with the iPhone 20 Pro.

What Tecno Actually Revealed

According to early images circulating online, Tecno’s concept phone eliminates bezels entirely, resulting in a display that appears to wrap seamlessly to the very edges of the device with no visible border interrupting the screen. This stands in contrast to even the slimmest bezels found on current flagship phones, including Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, which still retains a thin but visible border around its display.

The concept is reportedly set to be showcased publicly at IFA 2026, one of the tech industry’s major consumer electronics trade shows, where Tecno will likely provide further details on the technology behind this design and whether it represents a genuine path toward mass production or remains primarily a proof-of-concept demonstration.

Why This Matters for Apple’s Rumored iPhone 20 Pro

Apple has been rumored for several years to be working toward an eventual “all-screen” iPhone design, one where the display extends completely to the edges of the device without any visible bezel, camera cutout, or Dynamic Island interruption. While Apple hasn’t confirmed a firm timeline for this design goal, some reports have pointed to the iPhone 20 Pro, expected to launch in 2027 alongside Apple’s 20th iPhone anniversary, as a potential candidate for a significant design overhaul in this direction.

Given that Tecno’s concept phone demonstrates a working example of a true 0mm bezel display, it offers a useful visual reference point for what Apple’s rumored all-screen design goal might eventually look like in practice, even though Tecno and Apple are entirely separate companies with no confirmed connection between this concept device and Apple’s actual product roadmap.

An Important Distinction to Keep in Mind

It’s worth being clear that this comparison is speculative. Tecno’s concept phone is not an Apple product, has no confirmed relationship to Apple’s actual iPhone 20 Pro development, and concept devices showcased at trade shows don’t always make it to mass production in their originally demonstrated form. The comparison here is purely about visualizing what a genuinely bezel-free smartphone display could look like, using Tecno’s concept as a real-world reference point rather than as evidence of what Apple specifically is building.

The Technical Challenge of a True Bezel-Free Display

Achieving a genuinely borderless display is a significant engineering challenge, since manufacturers need to find ways to house essential front-facing components, cameras, sensors, and speakers, without any visible cutout or border interrupting the screen. Apple has already made incremental progress in this direction over the years, shrinking the notch into the Dynamic Island and rumored to be working on under-display camera and Face ID technology for future models. A true 0mm bezel design would represent the final step in that broader design evolution, assuming the underlying technology can be made reliable and cost-effective enough for mass-market smartphones.

What This Means Going Forward

Whether or not Apple’s iPhone 20 Pro actually achieves a true 0mm bezel design remains to be seen, and current information about Apple’s plans for that device is still largely speculative at this stage. That said, Tecno’s concept phone offers a genuinely compelling glimpse into what the broader smartphone industry is working toward, and its showcase at IFA 2026 should provide more clarity on how close this technology actually is to real-world implementation.

For now, this remains an interesting industry development to watch, both as a standalone Tecno concept and as a visual reference point for the kind of design direction Apple and other manufacturers may eventually pursue with their own flagship devices.
