Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 (2015) — A Colorful, Budget-Friendly Phablet

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was announced and released in August 2015, arriving as a stylish and affordable phablet aimed at users who wanted a big, sharp display without paying flagship prices. Though now discontinued, it remains a popular pick among budget smartphone collectors and retro tech fans.

The phone features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of around 71.5%. It’s powered by the Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, built on a 28nm process, with an Octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz and a PowerVR G6200 GPU handling graphics.

True to Xiaomi’s playful design language, the Redmi Note 2 was available in White, Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Mint Green color options, making it stand out from the typical black-and-white smartphone crowd of its era.
