Oppo Find N7 Leak Reveals Launch Timeline, 6,500mAh Battery, and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Chip

Oppo appears to be deep in development on its next flagship foldable, the Find N7, expected to succeed the Find N6, which launched back in March 2026. Early indications suggest the upcoming device could adopt a wider foldable form factor, similar in direction to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide) and Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone Ultra, both of which are expected to move away from the narrower cover-screen designs common in earlier foldable generations. A fresh leak has now surfaced with additional details about the phone’s timeline, chipset, and battery.

Testing Underway With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

According to a post from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Find N7 is currently being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, internally referenced as the SM8950. Qualcomm is expected to officially unveil this chipset later this year, alongside a higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro variant.

If this leak holds true, the Find N7 could end up being the first foldable smartphone on the market to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, giving Oppo a potential early-mover advantage over other foldable manufacturers still relying on the current generation of flagship chips.

A Bigger Battery Than Current Rivals

Beyond the chipset, the leak also points to Oppo testing an on-device AI accelerator for the Find N7, suggesting the company is leaning further into on-device AI processing rather than relying solely on cloud-based features.

On the battery front, early engineering targets reportedly point to a capacity starting with the digit “6,” with initial testing centered around a 6,500mAh cell. If this figure holds up through to release, it would give the Find N7 a larger battery than most current rival foldables from Samsung, and would also represent a step up from Oppo’s own previous model. For comparison, the current Oppo Find N6 ships with a 6,000mAh battery, supported by 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

Expected Launch Timeline

The leak further suggests the Oppo Find N7 will launch in the first quarter of 2027, which would align closely with the release timing of its predecessor. The Find N6 launched this past March in China at a starting price of CNY 9,999, roughly Rs. 1,34,200, positioning it firmly in the premium foldable segment.

What the Current Find N6 Offers for Comparison

Since full Find N7 specifications haven’t surfaced yet, it’s worth looking at what the current Find N6 offers as a baseline for what might carry over or improve in the next generation.

The Oppo Find N6 features an 8.12-inch inner foldable display paired with a 6.62-inch AMOLED cover screen, giving users a large, tablet-like experience when unfolded alongside a more traditional phone-sized display when folded. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, offering ample power and storage headroom for a foldable device.

On the camera side, the Find N6 includes a Hasselblad-tuned quad rear camera system, anchored by a 200-megapixel primary sensor, along with two separate 20-megapixel front-facing cameras, one for the inner display and one for the outer cover screen, allowing for selfies and video calls regardless of whether the phone is folded or unfolded.

What This Could Mean for Oppo’s Foldable Lineup

If these leaked details prove accurate, the Oppo Find N7 looks set to build meaningfully on its predecessor, particularly with a larger battery, a next-generation chipset, and continued emphasis on on-device AI capabilities. With foldable competition heating up across Samsung, Apple, and other manufacturers moving toward wider foldable designs, Oppo appears to be positioning the Find N7 to remain competitive at the top end of the foldable market heading into 2027.

As with all pre-launch leaks, these details should be treated as early testing targets rather than confirmed final specifications, since engineering benchmarks can shift before a device reaches mass production.
