Samsung SGH-800 — A Classic Piece of Early 2000s Mobile History
The Samsung SGH-800 was introduced and discontinued in January 2000, making it one of the earliest mobile phones from Samsung’s lineup. It is a simple feature phone with a monochrome graphic display offering a resolution of 128 x 64 pixels.
The phone comes in a flip form factor and supports 2G GSM networks (900/1800 MHz), with no rear camera — a reminder of just how far mobile technology has come since its release. It uses a removable Li-Ion battery and accepts a Mini-SIM card.
Weighing just 104 grams and measuring 88.0 x 50.0 x 23.5mm, the SGH-800 was praised for its compact, lightweight design at the time. Many early users fondly remember it as their first-ever mobile phone, citing its simplicity and reliability
